Ashanga Yatawatta MD FACS RPVI
Ashanga Yatawatta completed his medical education with the Royal College of Surgeons of England followed by Surgical residency at University of Texas, Medical branch in Galveston, TX. He completed a Fellowship in Vascular surgery and Endovascular therapy at Loyola University<Chicago and a Fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery/ Transplant at University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He is board certified with the American Board of Surgery as well as the European Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery, Fellow of the European Board of Surgery and European Board of Vascular Surgery. He graduated with Merit honors with Master of Vascular surgery program with the only such program in the world, at University of Edinburgh. He also completed a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Colorado State University.
Dr. Yatawatta has extensive training and experience in Vascular diseases as well as Liver and gall bladder disease, with a particular emphasis on minimally invasive options. He believes in offering the best possible care, with appropriate intervention and being transparent on options as well as payments. Dr. Yatawatta lives in Reno with Bylly, herself a doctor and veteran, and their son, Bear. They enjoy outdoors and travelling and being close to nature. |
