Our Services

We are here to help understand the complex diseases and explain the treatment options at your pace. We follow national and international guidelines and evidence based approaches to all surgical problems related to Hepatobiliary disease.

What does Hepatobiliary mean?

Hepatobiliary disease relates to diseases involving the liver, gall bladder and adjacent structures, most significantly the major blood vessels such as the portal vein, mesenteric arteries as well as the Inferior Venacava.
Dual Training in Vascular surgery allows treatment being extended beyond traditional surgery demarcation at our surgical offices.

Liver

Gall Bladder and Bile Ducts

One of the largest organs of the body and vital to normal functioning of the body, in particular with metabolism regulation, detoxification, and digestion.
Some of the diseases that may affect the liver can include
  • Liver tumor
  • Hepatocellular cancer originates in the liver and common in Cirrhosis and Hepatitis
  • Cholangiocarcinoma arises within the bile ducts within the liver
  • Secondary (Metastatic) tumors- Colon cancer commonly leads to liver deposits and safe, clear removal remains the only option of cure, even for advanced liver deposits
  • Rare tumors such as Neuroendocrine tumors
  • Non cancerous lesions
  • Hepatic cyst
  • Hemangioma
  • Hepatic adenoma
  • Focal Nodular Hyperplasia
Bile ducts are the plumbing pipes of the liver and Gall bladder is the storage unit.
Disease involving these are intimately related to liver and complex anatomical details are needed to treat diseases safely.

Types of Treatments

Laparoscopic Surgery

Robotic Surgery

Open Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery is performed using small incisions and reduces pain while improving wound healing and infection rates. It improves vision and allows enhancement such as special dye use to help with better surgical outcomes.
Robotics platform further enhances laparoscopy with robotic mechanical advantage to surgical precision for complex intra-abdominal surgery. It allows better visualization, magnification and enhancement leading to better surgical outcomes, particularly for liver surgery.
Safest surgical approach particularly for advanced tumors in difficult locations and allows safe, oncologically clean surgical removal of tumors of liver, gall bladder including involving major vascular structures.
